Dr. Raymond Chan from the CAS Key Laboratory of Mental Health, Institute of Psychology Gave A Plenary Speech at the 2023 Congress of the Schizophrenia International Research Society

Dr. Raymond Chan from the Neuropsychology and Applied Cognitive Neuroscience (NACN) Laboratory, and the CAS Key Laboratory of Mental Health, Institute of Psychology was invited to give a plenary speech at the 2023 Congress of the Schizophrenia International Research Society in Toronto, May 11-15. The title of Dr. Chan’s presentation is “The weakest link: Anhedonia across and beyond the schizophrenia spectrum disorders”. The theme of the congress is, Overcoming Global Adversity: Mind and Body Matter. There are 7 international renowned scholars invited to give keynote and plenary speech.

 The Schizophrenia International Research Society was founded in 2005 to bring together clinicians and scholars in the field of schizophrenia research around the world to exchange the latest advances in biological and psychosocial research in schizophrenia. Part of the society’s mission is to promote educational programs in order to disseminate new research findings related to schizophrenia (and related disorders) effectively and to expedite the publication of new and newsworthy research. It is estimated that 1 in every 100 people in the world live with this disorder. Even more live with psychosis.

 Dr. Raymond Chan is an elected member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and recipients of the Distinguished Young Investigator Award of the National Natural Science Foundation China, the Beijing Leading Talents in Science and Technology, the Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, and among one of the highly cited researchers in 2019 by Clarivate Analytics. His recent work has extended to a wider spectrum of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders including autistic spectrum disorders and Alzheimer’s disease.
